Review the presentation on Classroom Practices for English Language Learners below (or download the attached PowerPoint presentation). Download and Review the ESL Strategies document. Download the  ‘Travel Lesson Plan Sample’ document above and the completed samples of the lesson plan to have an idea of the assignment. Using the Travel Lesson Plan Sample (provided), select a grade level, look for the appropriate TEKS and ELPS, write an objective for the lesson and modify the lesson plan for use with ESL/LOTE students by selecting the modification you plan to use.  Modifications can be found in the lesson plan study guide or a quick Internet search. You will need to go to the Texas Education Agency website to find the appropriate TEKS and ELPS for the grade level you choose. The TEKS and ELPS can be found under the Curriculum tab on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills page.
